I am from Syria , but i don't know my family origin . but two weeks ago I received my Y-haplogroup results according to the results I have the {Anatolian/Caucasian} branch of Y-haplogroup J1. That means my origin is from these regions.
Maybe this is the reason for my high Asian minor percentage.

I'm from the east coast of Scotland, with proven ancestry going back for several centuries - Scottish, English (one line) and Ulster Presbyterian, so not very varied.

My FF results were

British Isles 63%
Western & Central Europe 32%
Finland & Northern Siberia 5%

The British Isles component presumably refers to the Celts and/or their predecessors. I'm R1b-L21 and have been told my Y DNA results put me in the R1b-Pict camp. I was brought up in the same village in the east of Scotland (former Pictland or "Caledonia") where my father's family have lived at least since the late 1500s.

Western & Central Europe - probably an Anglo-Saxon component in my ancestry.

Finland & Northern Siberia - well, on the Family Finder Basics thread there is a sub-thread for "Finland & Northern Siberia" with, to date, 4 pages of posts from puzzled people! This is what I posted there recently -

"And I thought it was just me! I'm delighted to have discovered this thread. My autosomal Family Finder results showed British Isles 63%, West & Central Europe 32% and Finland and Northern Siberia 5%.

As a born and bred Scot - no American ancestry of any kind - I was intrigued by that last result, but I think I know the reason for it. My mtDNA haplogroup is J1c2, and although the ancestor of us J people was a woman born 50,000 or so years ago in the Middle East or the Caucasus, there is evidence that the J1c2 sub-group is wholly European, and Stephen Oppenheimer, in his book "The Origins of the British", has a map showing the movement of what he calls J1b1 people from Norway to Scotland during the Neolithic. That would explain why I have mitochondrial matches with some Norwegians and Norwegian-Americans. But my own earliest known maternal ancestor was a woman of Scotch-Irish background in Belfast in the late 1700s, and my closest matches so far are with other descendants of Ulster Presbyterians.

The so-called "Ulster Plantation" of the early 1600s saw thousands of Scots from the west of Scotland moving over to Ulster, and many of the women would no doubt be descendants of that mtDNA J migration to Scotland in the Stone Age.

It all makes sense, sort of!"

Geno 2.0 NG (very similar to MyOrigins, at least so far): 96% Eastern European, 3% Finnish and Siberian and.

On paper so far it's 100% Latvian although she seemingly has one German grandmother (but we can't trace that line at all, she did get married in Latvia). She might connect to some Orleans just over the border in Lithuania, but there is an out of wedlock birth that makes the exact method of connection mysterious. That family has rumors about connecting to the French and perhaps French royal court (the branch of that that she has matches to does seem to score somewhat above the average on Eurogenes K13 for Oceanian for people from Lithuania and Latvia) but it's complex and talks of NPE and hidden stories and it's all sorts of up in the air. She has a match on 23 from England whose family was said to have worked for some early British companies that went to Indonesia, Sri Lanka and such. And a match to a family from Netherlands with perhaps a sailor in the distant past. Her match list places of birth from 23 download data are: blank - 808

On paper so far it's 100% Latvian although the tree is not worked out as extensively as for my mom at all. There had been a vague rumors of Hungarian along strictly paternal line but it seems disproven and some vague talk about maybe going to some Polish on his mother's side along one line (so far not really seeing that happen though). The DNA hints at, in addition to Latvian, a little Finnish and maybe some sort of Romanian or western Ukranian. One of his closest matches from Latvia also seems to score a bit on the high side for Finnish and Siberian for a Latvian. His match list places of birth from 23 download data are: blank - 830

KaiserT, that is very interesting you got 3% Finland & Northern Siberia. I'm assuming you don't have a recent Finnish or Russian ancestor. Is that typical for Pakistanis? Do you have any FamilyFinder matches who are Finnish (or Swedish)?

rounding so it might have been 97.5% E and 2.5% ME rounded to 98% and 3%

either that, or more likely, you are special and 101% human.
