I don't think the French ancestry accounts for the high percentage of non-European. Not unless the French side had connections to the Magreb or the Levant.

Have you had a look at admixture tools on Gedmatch lab?

Is this Gedmatch calculator the bet one for which kind of situations? In whcich case, is this calculator you used fits better?

I've tried most of the calculators, the above mentioned are just some that have the closest population approximations. Often though, they aren't reflective of actual ancestry, just whatever is closest to the population pools they used in their algorithms. I am not sure of my actual ancestry

@lab - not to be too uncomfortable about but it almost looks like one parent is from the Middle East or Italian at the least

Yes I know it definitely appears that way. Is Sephardic Jewish a possible explanation?
