64/67 to 67/67 Matches Where do your lines cross?
Hello all,
I am interested in 64/67 marker and higher matches and hearing where the lines cross. I know it doesn't guarantee that mine line will be the same but I would still love to hear. I have one 64/67 match. We have been unable to determine when our lines cross but it would almost have to be before 1650 (barring unknown shenanigans) based on where our respective ancestors were living over the past 350 years.

FTDNATiP, on your match page, will provide the PROBABILITY of the number of generations to a common ancestor with your matches. In the first case above they give the following PROBABILITY: 69.74% within four generations and 94.43% within eight generations. In the second case it is 2.3% within four generation and 23.54% in eight generations. To put it another way, in my opinion, any number of generations is just an educated guess at best. |

Where do lines cross -- FTDNATip
Just to add to Jim's post directly above, the FTDNATip calculator gives a curve of probability versus number of generations. I have found in my project that the 70% likelihood point is the best guess at "where lines cross" based upon my experience with known relationships.

My group has three members with an exact match at 67markers with a total of at least 21 generations separating them.
