I am a group administrator. It would help it when I received a notice about a match between kits and members if there was a note on there if they had posted a tree or not. If they do not have a tree posted, I don't bother to look at the results, as it is a waste of time. I hate to get excited about a match, then see there is no way to see if they even lived in the same area as my family. Trees also need places. Even just a state is better than a blank.

The whole concept of notifications about alleged matches - whether to customers or to group administrators - needs to be reviewed. The "matches" reported have proven to be almost completely meaningless, to the extent that I always delete these messages and hardly ever look at my Family Finder, Big Y, and Y-111 results. The notifications are completely debased and have become counterproductive.

Y-Matches
The notification of Y12 is particularly useless. I can always look at them online, but have no use for notifications at this level. Maybe notifications starting at 37 markers that have some possible use.
To follow up, another thread provided the way to fix the problem. There is way to fix the issue. Under the Account Settings > Match and E-mail settings, there is an option to select the notification of each level of Y-DNA match. I have mine set now and need to do it one on of the accounts I administer.

Family Tree
I need some advice. I try repeatedly to build my Family Tree under the FamilyFinder function. When I complete the info under "Father", I tap "Save" and then "Done." The system then recycles repeatedly until I get fed up and leave. Am I doing something wrong? I can't find the answers anywhere else.

This stuff must really vary a lot by haplogroup. Y12 on I-M223 has 4 Y-12 matches for me so a Y-12 notification is very useful.
