On my straight female line guess I'm a native European from way way back.
Anyway, I got a heck of a deal on the mtDNA Full Sequence. Couldn't resist. Thanks, FTDNA!
I have two exact full sequence matches now, a brother and his sister. Their mtDNA mdka, Mary James, was born in 1836. She shows up in the 1860 census living in Lauderdale County, Alabama, which, by co-inky-dink, is precisely where my mtDNA mdka was born in 1878. Hmmm . . .
I suspect she was the older sister of my mdka's mother.
