Does anyone here know anything about the "Orcadian" kits on Gedmatch?

An Orcadian "cousin" has just appeared. One of the kits on this list

matches one of my relatives. The particular segment is one where they have numerous matches though....more than usual.

Are these Orcadian kits living people or historic?

They are samples from living people who live and ancestors lived in the Orkney Islands of Scotland.

Depending on segment sizes, segment may be a reflection of ancestral group rather then recent ancestor in a genealogical timeframe.
