The cutoff problem was sometimes traced to the use of an apostrophe. In your case it might be some other special character.

Here's mine,

Affy first gave me 23% of Middle East/North African result; and illumina then took that and sent part into West European and West African. Doctor McDonald then came back with about 14% Jewish; I submitted my results to the Harappa Project and it came back with 14% Middle East.

I haven't found proof (document or physical) of African admixture in the last 6 family generations, so there is a probability that the African is deep roots and came into my family through North Africa via Spain/Portugal (Sephardim).

(you can see percentages in my signature, at the bottom of my post)

I was reading that The Druze are the decendants of Jethro, father in law of Moshe Rabbenu. I'm liking my population finder results more and more. It's fascinating to research.

Mine gave me 100% Jewish with no margin of error. I thought that was pretty cool!

I was able to get the latest version of the eurodnacalc to work. This is my results, which makes a lot more sense than any other of my results.

NW Euro 39%
SE Euro 39%
Ashkenazi Jewish 22%

From Dr. McDonald:
Most likely fit is 73.4% (+- 10.3%) Europe (all Western Europe) and 26.6% (+- 10.3%) Mideast (various subcontinents)

The following are possible population sets and their fractions, most likely at the top
English= 0.584 Jewish= 0.416
Irish= 0.514 Jewish= 0.486
English= 0.742 Palestin= 0.258
French= 0.767 Turkish= 0.233
French= 0.832 Palestin= 0.168
English= 0.722 Druze= 0.278
French= 0.711 Jewish= 0.289
French= 0.796 Armenian= 0.204
French= 0.849 Bedouin= 0.151
French= 0.821 Iranian= 0.179

This is likely in fact essentially 50-50 British- Jewish, as seen on the scatter plot with Jewish at the top.

My own research shows 3/8 Jewish, 3/8 German, 1/8 English, 1/8 Swiss (who had converted from Judaism).

It's the +/- character, the forum software doesn't like special characters. If you replace the single special character with +/-, the rest of your comment should work.

Thank you, Nathan. Since I posted, I've had an exchage with Dr. McDonald. He does not see his 50% English finding as inconsistent with the 3/8 German at all.

To research my Jewish ancestors, I have signed up for an independent study project through Jewishgen.org. It is open to people who have Jewish ancestors that lived in the "Pale of Russia". Mine, from what is now western Ukraine, qualify. This is "traditional" genealogy -- searching for records -- rather than DNA.

Finally, I am wondering if someone could post a link to the program that generated a pie chart of European ancestry in a previous post in this thread?

Thanks.

Brian Sullivan (ironically misnamed at birth)
