Eurogenes Jtest

The Jtest is now available at GEDmatch. It is to determine if you have Recent Jewish ancestry. I think it would be useful for someone who has Ashkenazi ancestry. However other Jewish populations are not used (Sephardi, Yemenite, etc). So I don't see how exactly it would be useful to people with Jewish ancestry that is non-Ashkenazi. This being said, I still have significant Ashkenazi admixture coming through. Maybe this is from Ashkenazi/Sephardi mixing?

Population
SOUTH_BALTIC 16.75%
EAST_EURO 12.69%
NORTH-CENTRAL_EURO 20.63%
ATLANTIC 15.30%
WEST_MED 12.67%
ASHKENAZI 5.25%
EAST_MED 9.58%
WEST_ASIAN 6.48%

"The Ashkenazi cluster is very similar to the Middle Eastern cluster in that regard. So anyone who gets an Ashkenazi score of around 2-3% either has very distant Jewish ancestry or, more likely, none at all. However, those who show more than 25% membership in that cluster are almost certainly of fully Ashkenazi ancestry, and their genomes peppered with Ashkenazi-specific chromosomal segments."

FWIW, my father and I both show up as ~29% Ashkenazi in the JTest.

correct me if I am wrong, but the ashkenazi had a far greater range in europe than the others , especially eastern europe, while the sephatic basically had its "foundations" in iberia and moved back to the levant at the time of the moriscos issue in spain in 1492

the article states to run EUtest as well and "read" with insight on the age of one's jewish ness

The Sephardi went to various places after they fled Spain. Places like (Italy, Bulgaria, Levant). This test won't be very helpful for people with Sephardi, etc ancestry.

Taz85 and the others, what do you think about my ASHKENAZI, WEST ASIAN and MIDDLE EASTERN results?

I think the calculator should also include Sephardi. I don't think the results will reflect very accurate for many of us.

What does your mixed mode results look like?

Yes. My guess is this blend indicates that you are roughly 7/8ths Portuguese, with the rest a mix of African, Native American, and Middle Eastern.
