    H7c3

I have spent 99.9% of my time focused on my Y-DNA.

However, it appears I have an "uncommon branch" of H on my mother's side.

Can anybody help me shed more light on this MtDNA? Everything I can find seems to point to Sweden or Finland.

On the H mtDNA Project, I found five H7c3's. Two of those had GEDmatch kits available. My mother had X-DNA connections to both, plus regular autosomal results to corroborate a connection. If you have an autosomal kit on GEDmatch and are interested in comparing, PM me the number and I'll see if it triangulates.

    Thanks,

    Jack Wyatt

Sorry no GEDmatch kit. I'm strictly an FTDNA member, with one Y-DNA test with Yseq.net.

      However, I appreciate the offer.

        You're welcome.

So how did you find out what your mtDNA is?

            Thanks again.

Have you done Family Finder and if so, do you have any H7c3's on your match list?

I do have Family Finder, but unfortunately no direct matches to H7c3.

              Interestingly...

              my mtDNA matches:
              HVR1, HVR2, CODING REGIONS - 15 MATCHES, 2 of which are exact (Genetic Distance = 0) matches and 9 are Genetic Distance = 1.

Actually, I do have one "X Match", but its "5th Cousin - Remote Cousin" with a mtDNA halpogroup of just "H".

And, one other "HVR2" match: "3rd Cousin - 5th Cousin" also with an mtDNA haplogroup of just "H".

However, I have MANY distant relative matches, but not connected to my Y-DNA or mtDNA.
