Question Deep ancestral roots

Hi friends,

New to the site and idea of genetic testing. I am trying to find out if there is a method that might help shed light on an oral part of family history. My father's side of the family believes we are part Mongolian many, many generations ago. We'd like to know of any method to see if there is evidence of a Eurasian mix in our family (our paternal U.S. ancestor migrated from Prussia.) I have seen the paternal and maternal line tests that focus on deep roots but these seem to focus on one tiny part of the line whereas we are more interested in knowing if we have a notable pecentage of central Asian genetics. If so, what is the best way to do this?

Thanks for your help!
