western and central europe

i was wondering about my dna result that shows that i am 39 percent western and central europe and 17 percent scandinavian.how can i be only 17 percent scandinavian .my mother is 100 percent scandinavian as i know of i can trace her father and mother back in denmark and norway for the last 400 or 500 years on both of her sides.thanks

There is considerable overlap between Scandinavian and Western and Central Europe. Denmark is the southernmost part of "Scandinavia". The Angles went off and left their DNA all over the place.

Genetically the Scandinavians, British and Western and Central Europe people are not all that different. Sure, they speak different languages and have had different allegiances over the centuries but they're more closely related than they realise.
