assuming a lot of his family did the ancestry testing. I have had very few people in my family do an ancestry type DNA test. if they haven't played the game they wont be on the score card.

if your GEDmatch cousin..... hasn't loaded their data onto FTDNA you won't find them on FTDNA.

I went to look at my origins again and the page is gone. I paid for the part that lets you look at it as well as DNA matches.... is there some new trick to viewing this now? I have no problem going...

that's only IF you Italian or P.R. relatives used...

that's only IF you Italian or P.R. relatives used FTDNA as a testing/uploading source. if they used Ancestry or 23andMe it wont show here on FT.

ancestry gave me 66% British Isles and 5% Scandinavian. the same raw data with the FT 2nd gen MyOrigins calculates it as 6% British Isles and 36% Scandinavian.

there is a considerable difference between Ancestry saying 1% and GEDmatch saying 15%. discrepancies existing as in 13% or 17% is one thing. to list the same thing as barely showing up is another....

Ancestry uses "estimates" [their word not mine]...

Ancestry uses "estimates" [their word not mine] to pigeon hole you in a region based on their suspect population samples. GEDmatch uses the exact science of the chromosome break down, not guess work....
