H1n maternal haplogroup

So I recently got my results back from my Geno 2.0 test and it listed my maternal haplogroup as H1n. After doing some research online, I see there are branches off of H1n. Am I to assume I'm truly just H1n for my haplogroup or is the Nat Geo test just not thorough enough to get me any information beyond the H1n portion of my haplogroup?

Your H1n haplogroup may or may not be your final subclade of haplogroup H. There are several branches below H1n, shown at PhyloTree.org - mtDNA tree Build 17 (use the "find" function of your browser to search for "H1n"). I see listed there:
H1n1, H1n1a, H1n1b
H1n2
H1n3
H1n4
H1n5
H1n6

In order to find out your final subclade, you need to have the mtDNA FullSequence test done. It is on sale through April 28th, for $50 off the regular price (+ shipping and handling).

Thanks! I assumed this was probably the case and the Nat Geo test didn't fully sequence the mtDNA.

Gene 2.0 only tests "~4000 positions on the mtDNA genome[7]"
https://isogg.org/wiki/Autosomal_DNA...mparison_chart

Where as mtDNA Full Sequence tests over 16000 positions of the mtDNA Genome.

So it is likely you are only assessed up to an older parent branch as a result of them only testing certain positions/SNPs
