Would love to have a way to...

I would love to have a way to dismiss or "set aside" matches on FF. So many give no information on trees and it makes it very difficult for those who are seriously looking for matches.

Family Trees

Posted 25th April 2017 at 04:30 PM by Wheal

Just wanted to say a little bit about finding families on here. As a newbie, was was very surprised to find so many people who didn't upload their trees. With over 1500 matches for my mom, and 1000 for my dad, I only had maybe 25-50% who uploaded trees. Y-DNA and mtDNA were the problem. I have a large number of 2-3 or 4th cousins, and a number of Y-DNA 50-90cM but am unable to compare families.

If you are really interested in filling in your trees, upload at least 5 generations...

My grandmother was not given any information of her biological father. No one knows what the situation was or if there was ever any contact. I am waiting for dna results to be processed for my father on FTDNA.My immediate family have all tested

I am a member of the FTDNA Smith Group R-M269-9. My work pertains to lineages that have been tied up with Linda G. Cheek's book, "Ancestors and Descendants of Smiths".

My WordPress blog contains my best examples of my current research. I have been using the internet to research these lines for about two solid years now. I make all of my findings (and musings) available to anyone who wishes to review them. I also welcome questions and comments on my...
