Guess my 12% on paper German/French is buried in there somewhere. My fathers family is very dark haired, hairy,brown eyed and olive skinned . He was 75% Irish and 25% German/French on paper. But his fathers nickname was "Turk" because of his looks.

DNAMatch and X Chromosome

If you have DNAMatch 4 the iPad, there are a couple of things you should be aware of concerning FTDNA's new feature of including X chromosome matches.

1. DNAMatch will continue to import the .CSV export files from the Chromosome Browser.
FTDNA is reporting the X chromosome as chromosome 98

2. DNAMatch currently reports the X chromosome matches from 23andMe as Chromosome 0

3. A maintenance release will include a fix to make both the FTDNA and 23andMe...

Multiple Autosomal DNA Match Sources

A common complaint or point of confusion that I see often from users when importing autosomal match data into a spread sheet is that it can be difficult and confusing. People often go through gyrations of cutting and pasting of data and color coding overlapping segments. As a programmer when I saw what my sisters were doing in our family search for the birth family of my father, I was appalled. There just had to be an easier way -- Thus DNAMatch for the iPad.

Download all matches from Chromosome Browser

I think one of the most useful improvements that FTDNA has made recently is the ability to download of all your Autosomal matches with the Chromosome Browser. This works extremely well with DNAMatch for the iPad. You can view a video of the process at the support web site, http://www.dnamatch4ipad.com
